Over winter break, I spent about 2,141 minutes on Instagram, scrolling through first-semester recap posts from my freshman peers. My screen lit up with photos of large groups of friends with bright smiles, putting one arm in the air and the other around another equally smiling companion. The people in these posts seemed so carefree. There was no visible trace of the loneliness or anxiety that had permeated so many of my experiences last semester.

Every time the app refreshed, my feed was inundated with photos of picnics in the Law Quadrangle and chaotic tailgates, with captions proclaiming that people had found their home and were with their own. Although I consider myself very aware of how fake social media can be, I still felt uneasy going through these posts and seeing the perfect college experience that everyone seemed to be having but me.

Many of these posts were made using the 1 Second Everyday app. Promising to “create a meaningful movie of your life”, the app allows users to take one-second videos for each day of the year, which are then compiled into a single video. The app has 4.8 stars, and one reviewer even shared that seeing her son’s happiness every day in the videos helped her cope with postpartum depression. The app encourages people to focus on the special little moments that happen every day: the moment a swirl of cream hits a cup of coffee, the fast-moving view from a bus window, or the last second of standby brightness. turn off the lights and go to sleep.

Looking for a new way to explore and experience the Missouri outdoors in the Ozarks and beyond? The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) encourages children and adults to check out the free mobile game app, Agents of Discovery, while exploring the state’s natural areas.

“Using technology to make people more comfortable in nature is a cool way to reach different Missourians,” said MDC exhibits coordinator Susie Wachowski. “Users log into Agents of Discovery and solve challenges using their nature detective skills.”

Experience nature by completing “missions” while learning about Missouri’s forest, fish, and wildlife. Some of the active missions include:

  • Discovery Center Backyard Birds: Begin your mission at the bird feeder near the back exit of the building. Identify, learn and explore all the native birds you can find in our garden and yours!
  • Eagle Days: Why are there so many bald eagles in Missouri in the winter? Where do they live and what do they eat? Take up the challenges and find out! This mission can be played at home or at an Eagle Days event. Hurry, this mission leaves on February 28!
  • Twin Pines Ecosystem Adventure: Who Lives at Mule Camp Pond? What creature makes that noise? Complete the five challenges at the Twin Pines Conservation Education Center and uncover the mystery for yourself.

What type of pollinators are found in the state? How do bald eagles hunt their food? Discover the answers to these questions and more as you navigate Agents of Discovery.

“Complete nature-based challenges at home, by visiting an MDC nature or visitor center, or by attending MDC events, such as Eagle Days or the Missouri State Fair,” Wachowski said. “You can even launch the app and play mini-games to complete a mission.”

Once completed, users can claim rewards and challenges can be posted on social media using an MDC Instagram sticker or win small prizes at a nearby MDC Nature Center. The more missions you play, the more rewards you can earn!

“If you want to show off all your hard work, complete missions and share your achievements with MDC staff to receive prizes. You can earn Agent Oscar stickers, a custom button, or a pin for completing 1, 4, and 10 missions “, she said. “For this however, you need to create a profile on the Agents of Discovery app to show your progress and record completed missions.

Missions are updated frequently, “so there’s always a new way to play and learn about the great outdoors of Missouri,” she added.

To play Agents of Discovery without Wi-Fi or data connection, be sure to download the free app and create an agent profile, choose a mission in your area, and download the mission before you go. Then it’s up to you and your secret agent tools to find and unlock challenges!

Look for other MDC missions on:

  • Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center
  • Springfield Nature Center
  • Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center

While exploring nature, MDC recommends staying aware of your surroundings and always staying on the trail.

Agents of Discovery is available for download through the App Store for Apple products or Google Play for Android devices.

Swiping right and matching with a suave millionaire may be the stuff of Tinder fantasies, but for several women, it’s become a living nightmare. The Tinder Swindler follows the curious case of Israeli fraudster Shimon Hayut who posed as a Russian oligarch and managed to fish the cat and find his way into the hearts of trusted dating app users. Hayut racked up exorbitant bills as he romanticized these women across Europe, his demands growing ever more extreme and his story ever more convoluted. This gripping, highly focused and thrilling two-hour documentary shows the seedy side of social media as it unravels the story of con artist Romeo through the eyes of the women he conned and who eventually band together to get revenge.

Murderville

Thursday February 3
Based on the cult BBC 3 series Murder in Successville, Murderville cleverly combines our love of police procedurals, true crime and our penchant for goofy sitcoms and game shows. The American version of this hybrid beast sees Will Arnett (Arrested Development) play the walking cliché of lead detective Terry Seattle, a mustachioed old pro in the homicide squad. Each episode follows Seattle investigating his latest case, the twist being that he’s joined by a celebrity guest who improvises his way through the story trying to figure out the thriller. Stars like Sharon Stone, Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek) Conan O’Brien and Ken Jeong valiantly let loose as Arnett orchestrates mayhem in this postmodern take on Cluedo.

Catching Killers – Season 2

Wednesday February 9
One of Netflix’s most compelling crime series, Catching Killers eschews the flashy editing and sometimes sensationalized storytelling of its contemporaries, preferring instead to focus on the facts. The series continues to explore the heartbreaking effects serial murders have on society at large while delving into the memories of the hard-working detectives and prosecutors who worked on these high-profile cases. This season recalls the sniper shootings in Phoenix, Arizona, the story of Toronto’s Bruce McArthur, and the crimes of Dennis Rader AKA The BTK. Rader’s story was the connective tissue of David Fincher’s sadly departed Mindhunter and while we may never get his opinion on the unsuspecting church leader and self-proclaimed ‘family man’, Catching Killers will provide the sobering, unvarnished truth about his crimes.

Love is Blind – Season 2

Friday February 11
The dating show that dominated our pre-Covid existence is back. Jessica and her wine-tasting dog may seem like a hazy, distant memory, but Love is Blind is ready to capture the cultural conversation again, with its selection of desperate romantics ready to toss down the aisle with a relative stranger. Perhaps the post-lockdown world is the perfect time for the series to return, because in the dating world the stakes have never been lower. Singles are now content with any type of comfort after two long years of isolation. In its first season, we watched these wild-eyed subjects with cynicism and contempt, as their desire to be coupled led them to fall in love in disembodied voices behind a wall of glass. Now, after the tyranny of Zoom dating, the tiny groups of potential suitors waiting to be engaged seem almost quaint and civilized.

Invent Anna

Friday February 11
Shonda Rhimes is the master of flashy, glamorous and captivating spectacle. The kind of sophisticated, confident storytelling that dominated television. From Grey’s Anatomy to Scandal and Bridgerton, Rhimes naturally understands how to shape and pace a story that explodes like a powder keg; so it’s no surprise that she’s the showrunner tasked with bringing the spellbinding story of Anna Delvey to the screen. Adapted from the electrifying New York magazine article, it details how a fake heiress tricked Manhattan’s high society into funding her lavish lifestyle.

Starring Ozark’s Julia Garner as Delvey and Veep’s Anna Chlumsky as the reporter on his trail, Inventing Anna examines the ideas around the pseudo-identities that are easily created in modern society. It’s a raw, exhilarating journey through a rarefied world that’s made incredibly accessible through the daily opulence displayed on Instagram.

jeen-yuhs: a Kanye trilogy

Wednesday February 16
This three-part documentary attempts to assess the life and work of the confusing Kanye West. West, or Ye as he is now known, is one of the most polarizing figures in recent pop culture history. Genius musician, creative visionary, formidable hip hop artist, irritating, agitator, selfish, insane provocateur, all these contradictory aspects inhabit the maverick who has captured our attention and stifled the world press. since 2004.

Videographers Coodie and Chike filmed over fifteen years of pure Ye, from his early days as an emerging artist trying to prove himself, his mythological self firmly in place, to the chaotic days of his mental health issues and supporting Trump. free fall. An intimate portrait that isn’t a salacious hit or a light hagiography, it captures Ye in all of her haunting, jaw-dropping glory and wondering what the next chapter will bring.

Space Force – Season 2

Friday February 18
The American Office co-creating duo of Steve Carrell and Greg Daniels team up again for this work-unsuitable sitcom. Much maligned when first released even though it included a list of supreme talents such as John Malkovich, Lisa Kudrow and the late Fred Willard, this time around the season was shortened to just seven half-hour episodes. in the hope that it will distill the laughter. . After the first season, General Naird de Carrell and his bumbling crew are now under the control of the new administration and will each have to prove their worth or risk leaving the Space Force altogether; It remains to be seen whether this will be their last mission for Netflix.

The Cuphead Show

Friday February 18
Netflix’s new animated series is based on the award-winning and much-loved video game Cuphead. The delightful hand-drawn homage to the vibrancy and quirky weirdness of 1930s cartoons won praise from fans and critics alike when it was released in 2017. The series is a loving extension of this very specific universe. A beautifully crafted nostalgic cartoon comedy, it follows Cuphead and Mugman on their adventures through the surreal world of the Inkwell Isles. The brothers cause chaos on their journey by falling foul of the devil himself who makes it his mission to terrorize the hapless duo.

Fall: the case against Boeing

Friday February 18
Documentary maker Rory Kennedy (Last Days in Vietnam) puts the aviation industry under the microscope in this killer film. Downfall: The Case Against Boeing investigates the twin tragedies of the 2018 Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines crashes that left 346 people dead. The two aircraft involved in these disasters were Boeing 737-Maxes. Through interviews with engineers, employees and pilots, Kennedy’s thought-provoking documentary brings together not only the aircraft’s design and manufacturing flaws, but also the mistakes made by corporate greed and the need constantly innovating at all costs. With Boeing deducing that the pilots were responsible for both crashes, the film attempts to refocus that narrative with contributions from the victims’ family members and analysis from respected aviation and aerospace journalists.

Vikings: Walhalla

Friday February 25
Netflix’s latest historical epic is a spin-off of the hugely popular Vikings series. Set 100 years after the events of the original Norse drama, it’s more beards, boats and battles as they fight to survive in a new Europe. Somewhere among the muscle twitches and the wielding of the sword, there is a vague story about the massacre of St. Brice where King Aethelred II of England ordered the murder of all Danes on his lands. Famed Viking adventurer Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett) takes center stage as he vows to avenge his ancestors. Showrunner Jeb Stuart – screenwriter of Die Hard and The Fugitive – certainly brings his action credentials to the series, tearing down London Bridge, upping the colossal fight sequences and generally forgoing any kind of Game-style po-face lore. of Thrones. There’s no time for serious contemplation in Vikings: Valhalla is fast-paced, bloated Scandi-foolishness-on-steroids.

OYO has launched a multimovie Brand countryside which will be visible on television, on social networks, on OTT platforms, etc. in January and February, thus marking the new year. The new age tech platform that empowers the global hotel ecosystem has released three movies starring several renowned new age actors such as Gul Panag, Kalki Koechlin, Chitrangada Singh and Kunal Kapoor who bring to life the many daily stories of travelers.

During the pandemic years, travelers not only in India but all over the world have adapted and evolved their travel habits and preferences. Travelers now place greater trust in brands that offer flexibility and personalization. With this insight at the heart of its brand countryside, OYO aims to make known the main characteristics of the OYO App.

The first movie highlights the benefits of the Nearby feature. OYO’s deep presence across India and in 35 countries across the globe, enables users to book accommodation while on the go by simply tapping on the “Nearby” icon. The second film is based on the ever-increasing need for flexibility when travelling. The film therefore highlights OYO’s easy cancellation and refund feature, allowing users to change bookings before their stay. The third film promotes the “Search the View” feature, which allows users to discover staycations based on any search keyword, including the view, whether it’s near the beach, hills, near the market, near the airport or even a view of the golf course. . Throughout the brand campaign, OYO presents a diverse customer base, catering to families, discerning travelers and groups of friends.

The first film, “Assi reach gaye?” presents Gul Panag. The film presents the roadtrip of a family. True to her real persona, Gul embodies the role of a confident, adventure-seeking mother, taking the lead in the driver’s seat. The film presents the many stages of the journey, starting with the child enjoying the view of the scenic hills, through boredom and finally the restlessness after spending hours in the car. Here the film captures the many quirks of a now impatient 3-4 year old, who endlessly nudges his mother from the back seat with the enjabi words “Assi reach gaye?” (Have we reached?). At this point, the now anxious couple realize they have a long journey ahead of them, with over eight more hours to go. Everyone is tired of the trip. On the road, Gul turns to the OYO app, hits the “Nearby” feature, and hits the book button. The film features the tagline, ‘Need a time out? Find accommodation nearby.’

OYOthe brand countryside continues with two more films. The second features Kalki Koechlin and a group of friends relaxing by a lake. And a third with Chitrangada Singh and Kunal Kapoor leading on a golf course.

Speaking on the brand’s campaign, Mayur Hola, Global Brand Manager – OYO, said, “OYO truly believes that progress is for everyone. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from or where you are. you are heading, we are all looking to evolve in our lives. This is the spirit that OYO embodies and supports. You could experience a hotel for the first time. You could count on a safe and sanitized stay as you make your 50th sales trip to a faraway place. You might be looking for a nice house in Europe, a nice hotel in Bali or an upscale stay in Jaipur. There is a OYO for that. At the heart of it all is an easy-to-use app that’s backed by some serious technology. An app that lets you find an OYO near you, wherever you are. It helps you keep your plans and your life flexible, as we all have to nowadays. An application that allows you to go out and to reach your next stage of progress. And that is exactly the purpose of this campaign. It’s about the evolution of OYO customers, our patrons (our hotel owner partners) and indeed the evolution of OYO into the global technology hotel brand it is today.

Commenting on his role in the films, Gul Panag said, “Let’s face it, traveling with children can be very difficult, especially if you’re behind the wheel all day, maneuvering through ghats, hills and dangerous roads. And that’s just one situation. What if your car breaks down? Or if suddenly motion sickness sets in? Or if you just love a particular spot along the way? Why wouldn’t you want to brake and enjoy the sunset? And the list could go on and on. I love travel and the spontaneity that goes with it. I was thrilled to learn that travelers have the ability to experience stays where and when they want, on their terms. When OYO came to me with the concept of the “Nearby” feature and the script, it was an easy YES. Because it’s so relevant. Needless to say, Vishvesh and the entire OYO team were a super fun group to work with.

The concept for the brand campaign and the script for the films were developed and written by OYO’s global in-house brand team. The film is directed by Vishvesh Krishnamoorthy of Corcoise Films, the production houses founded by Prasoon Pandey. Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy has served as a director at MTV and VH1 with over a dozen PromaxBDA awards under his belt. He also won a Lion at Cannes for directing the documentary series “The Dewarists”. He directed the feature film titled “99 Songs” produced by two-time Oscar winner AR Rahman, a dozen music videos and more than 150 TV commercials. Some notable ad works include Satyamev Jayate (feat Aamir Khan), Bournvita, Fastrack, Swiggy, Gpay, 7Up, Tata sky, LivSpace, Perfetti (mentos & Center fresh) and more.

I was thrilled to learn that travelers have the ability to experience stays where and when they want, on their terms. When OYO came to me with the concept of the “Nearby” feature and the script, it was an easy YES. Because it’s so relevant. Needless to say, Vishvesh and the entire OYO team were a super fun group to work with.

OYO kicked off the brand campaign during the ODI India VS South Africa matches on TV. The OYO brand campaign will be seen across multiple channels across GEC, News, Infotainment and the Kids genre. OYO will also release the first film on its own digital and social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn. OYO will also present the campaign on its OYO app, the Co-OYO app (for patrons) and on all its internal digital communication media with customers, patrons and OYOpreneurs.

Interestingly, similar to the role of Gul Panag, Chitrangadha Singh and Kalki Koechlin in the movies, OYO’s journey with portraying strong women began last year with its brand campaign “In a long-term relationship with OYO featuring Neena Gupta. OYO’s 2021 campaign was born from a simple but solid idea: women were the primary decision makers when it came to booking a getaway, vacation or vacation. According to the OYO study, in eight out of ten cases, women led the conversation and made the final decision about travel. Keeping these results at the heart of the brand campaign, OYO decided to speak to its main customer and decision-maker group: women.

If you are a video game company, the first thing that comes to mind is to create a mobile application. However, before starting the development of an application, it is important to know what factors contribute to pricing. You should also check how long it will take to develop an app.

There are different mobile apps such as social media apps, business apps, games, and entertainment apps. The cost of developing the game application is charged according to the features of the game. It can be 3D or 2D graphics, multiplayer support, number of levels, etc.

It is also important to know that there are two types of games. The first is that the user downloads to their devices. The second is where they play through a browser (web-based). Depending on the type of game, its features and the target audience, game development costs vary. These factors ultimately help determine the final price. This article will discuss the difference a mobile app makes, the fees, and the factors to consider before developing a mobile app.

Does the mobile application platform make a difference?

One of the biggest decisions in app development is which mobile platform to choose. Android and iOS are the two most popular mobile platforms. If you are targeting a global audience, developing an app for Android and iOS can be a good decision. However, if your app is only for a specific country or region, you might want to focus on one platform.

Mobile Game Developer Pricing:

Mobile game developers charge based on their experience, type of project, and number of hours spent on your project. Developing an app for a simple game like solitaire can cost as little as $10/hr. However, developing more advanced games with multiplayer support and 3D graphics will cost upwards of $50/hr or even up to $100/hr.

The cost of developing a mobile game app ranges from $2,000 to $200,000. The final price largely depends on the features and complexity of the game, so it’s important that you plan your budget wisely and discuss all requirements in detail with your developer before you begin development.

Factors to consider before developing mobile games:

It is also important to consider the following factors when choosing mobile game development costs.

Platform:

Mobile games are available on Android and iOS. So you have to decide which platform will be the best for your mobile gaming application. For example, an adventure game will work well on both platforms, but a car racing game may be more suitable for iOS because it is more advanced than Android.

Compatibility:

It is important to know if your game will be compatible on all phones and tablets or not? Your developer can provide you with a list of devices your app will work on. If you want your game to be available for a specific set of devices, plan accordingly.

Number of levels:

A number of game levels play an important role in determining the cost of developing a mobile game application. The higher the number of levels, the longer it will take to build an entire game. its overall cost will therefore be higher. Also does it depend on what type of game you are developing like arcade games, puzzles etc. ? If you want to develop games with fewer levels, there will be no problem, but if you want a lot, it can greatly affect your budget.

Kind of game:

Different types of games have different target audiences and age groups. There are action-adventure and RPG (role-playing games), puzzle and adventure, etc. So, while choosing a genre for your mobile app, keep in mind the target audience and price range of your game.

Graphic:

The graphics and gameplay of a mobile game app directly affects its performance and popularity. But good quality 3D graphics cost more than 2D graphics. It is therefore important to have realistic expectations from your developer regarding the graphics of your mobile application based on which you can plan the development price of it.

Numbers of players:

More players means more requirements in terms of memory space, server usage, etc. to develop an application with multiplayer support, you need to discuss with your developer different aspects related to server hosting, processing power required, etc., depending on the type of game you are planning so that the budget estimate become easier.

Add-ons and additional features:

There are different add-ons and features in a game, such as in-app purchases, in-game currency, social media integration, etc. All of this affects the overall cost of developing your mobile game app. It is therefore important to discuss these options with your developer before finalizing the development schedule.

Support and updates:

Once you’ve developed your mobile gaming app, you’ll need to take care of its updates and troubleshoot any issues after it goes live. Developers can do this work, but companies usually have separate teams that deal with releasing new features and version updates, which means more costs for your company. So decide in advance whether you want free support or not and budget for it accordingly.

These are some of the major factors that should be considered while planning the budget for mobile game development. Once you have a comprehensive understanding of all of this, it becomes easier to estimate the cost of the whole project. But, in any case, if you still have any doubts or questions, do not hesitate to discuss it with your developer and get clarification on this matter.

Are there any pre-development costs?

When hiring a mobile app development company, keep in mind that they may charge you for pre-development work. Pre-development is when the company takes some time to investigate and learn about your business and the idea for the mobile app before starting the actual game development.

What about mobile game testing?

Testing is an important phase in the development of a mobile application. You should test your game on different devices and platforms to make sure it works flawlessly before releasing it to the public. This process can be expensive, so be sure to factor in the cost of testing when budgeting for your mobile gaming app.

When budgeting for a mobile gaming app, there are several factors to keep in mind. Development cost can vary greatly depending on the genre of the game, the graphics and animations involved, the number of levels, and whether or not multiplayer support is needed. Additionally, you will need to budget for post-development support and updates and test the game on different devices and platforms. By considering all these factors, you can get a better estimate of your mobile game app development cost.

Wrap:

Developing a mobile game app can be expensive, but it can also be very profitable. By understanding the various factors that affect development costs, you can budget accordingly and ensure your game is developed to the highest standards. Good luck with your next mobile game app!

How Richie and Gemma McCaw prepare for a trip to the great outdoors.

Ahh the great Kiwi summer. When the weather is warm, we love dinners on the terrace, cricket matches in the garden and, of course, classic outdoor adventures with family and friends. Hitting the tracks and trails is one of the best ways to explore Aotearoa, but as the saying goes, “safety first”. And that’s where the new Plan My Walk app comes in.

Designed by the experts at the New Zealand Mountain Safety Council, the free Plan My Walk app is super easy to use, packed with practical information and helps you stay safe while out enjoying the scenery. With Plan My Walk, you can get the right kit sorted with the interactive gear list, make a simple travel plan, assign emergency contacts, and easily share your plans with others.

The app also offers trail ideas if you’re looking for some outdoor inspiration, trail-specific alerts if there’s anything to worry about, and weather forecasts to keep you up to date with conditions. Plus, you can personalize it with your daily schedule and travel notes, and leave reviews of trails, huts, and campsites to help others. It’s like a one-stop-shop for all things outdoor safety, and it’s the perfect tool for everyone from seasoned hikers to first-time adventurers.

Local legends Richie and Gemma McCaw are already fans of the app and use it every time they hit the trails in Aotearoa. For Richie McCaw, it’s about how simple precautions can really pay off when it comes to staying safe.

“Sometimes the health and safety side of going outside can turn some people off, but the app makes it a really easy thing to do,” he says.

“We’re privileged to have what we have here in New Zealand, but sometimes if you’re wrong it can be unforgiving, so it’s about saying, ‘This is something that will make it more enjoyable. and will keep you safe. “”

While Gemma McCaw is an avowed “impulsive” explorer, she knows the importance of good planning. For her, Plan My Walk gives certainty to all aspects of a trip.

“It’s great because it’s accessible to everyone, and you can use it regardless of your ability, while taking into account all these elements that you need to know. But it’s the security element that is the more importantly because it makes sure people come back to their loved ones,” she said.

“When people see pictures of us on social media on top of a mountain, a lot of them say they want to go do this but don’t know how, and so the app sets up the how to them, rather than just going out and aiming for the moon.

“Summer is a great time to get out there, try out the app, and do something new and exciting.”

"It is the security element that is most important, because it ensures that people come back to their loved ones," said Gemma McCaw.

And with Plan My Walk, you can be sure you’re getting the best information from those who really know their stuff. New Zealand Mountain Safety Council chief executive Mike Daisley said after their extensive research showed a worrying number of trampling incidents were preventable, the app was developed to take the guesswork out of planning a trip.

“It’s really easy to underestimate the importance of good planning and preparation, there are a lot of little things that can be overlooked,” he says.

“When combined, these small planning deviations can have a big impact on your safety. Conversely, it’s often the small details that go a long way to improving your safety.”

Indians are “aware” of when and how they are dating; movies, food and sports are the main interests; and Leo, Scorpio and Libra are the most sought after sun signs

Thanks in part to the pandemic, around 75% of Indians on the Bumble Platform are prioritizing finding a more emotionally available partner. (Representative image)

Indian matchmaking was among the best shows on Netflix, and desi parents continue to swear by horoscopes. But the dating scene in the country is just as busy, according to information shared by Bumble, a US-based dating app that has users around the world.

COVID, and how it changed the way people think and experience may be sanity, but 54% of Indians are now more aware of how and when to go out, Bumble said, according to data collected from January to November 2021 They are more selective about who they want to spend time with and opt for those with similar dating intentions when applying filters.

Globally, Bumble competes with several social media dating apps, including market leaders Tinder and Badoo, but it’s pioneering as a ‘women first’ platform. In a heterosexual match, the woman must take the first step; man can only respond or decline an interest. The app has a rigorous policing mechanism to prevent harassment.

Single, ok not to get involved

Sharing the trends revealed by his data, Bumble said about 62% of Indians now realize that it’s actually okay to be alone, at least for a while. This is an interesting trend, as Indian society has traditionally viewed marriage as a “must”.

In March, Bumble introduced “interest badges,” which subscribers can use to find partners with similar interests. Film and television won the most badge holders, followed by food and drink and sports. Under Film & TV, action and adventure and comedy were the preferred genres for all ages. While millennials preferred Bollywood, Gen Z loved Anime. Under Food, Coffee, Beer, Gourmet, and Biryani were the most popular searches.

Thanks in part to the pandemic, about 75% of Indians on his platform are prioritizing finding a more emotionally available mate, Bumble said. About 52% said they drastically changed what they look for in a partner. With the pandemic and the lockdowns, Indians have reset their date, and around 71% are also said to be ready to hit the reset button next year, if necessary.

Dogs, pubs and PDAs

Photography, dogs, pubs, and cooking were the most widely deployed filters on the dating app. Cooking, video games, and gardening were among the most popular living activities, while pubs and nightclubs, coffee shops, and standing comedies were frequent outing activities.

As fear of the pandemic recedes and social distancing takes a back seat, the PDA (public display of affection is back with a bang. About 73% of Bumble Indians said they were open to PDA , even if it was not until after the pandemic.

Zodiac signs were a preferred filter, and Leos had the most matches of all astrological signs. They were followed by Scorpios and Libras in India.

Do you have a great adventure story? A video of you and your The North Face gear could end up at the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco next year.

On October 12, The North Face announced its fall brand campaign, It’s more than a jacket, an initiative to honor and celebrate the company’s 55-year adventure. To capture the stories behind its durable gear, the San Francisco-based adventure company is calling on explorers from around the world to submit stories and images of beloved and well-used products. The North Face will choose the best (and most emotional) stories to include in its official archives, which will come to life in a series of fall 2022 programs at SFMOMA. The exhibits will feature the most significant designs and stories in the history of the Bay Area Exploration Company, as well as submissions from famous adventurers and cultural icons.

“Our customers, the achievements they’ve accomplished and the memories they’ve created are an integral part of the rich DNA of our brand,” said Mike Ferris, vice president of global branding for The North Face in a statement. hurry. “With these archives, we commemorate the people, products and stories that continue to inspire our community and move the world forward.”

It’s more than a jacket joins music stars like Wu co-founder Tang RZA and LA’s HAIM in tandem with The North Face explorers Conrad Anker and Ingrid Backstrom, describing their adventure stories inside the attributes and gear of the Mark.

“In the ’90s, not only was The North Face the rugged and stylish outfit we needed on the streets of New York, it was more than a jacket as it was a witness,” RZA said in a promotional video. “It was a testimony of the brotherhood that we inspired and that inspired us. By entering this jacket into the archives, I have the chance to relive and preserve the memories I have lived forever. “

As the campaign kicks off this fall, The North Face will present six new collections that pay homage to the brand’s DNA, drawing on its rich past to inspire future getaways. This will include the Nuptse, which, after outfitting the very first non-mechanized Antarctic crossing of the 1990s, will now be offered in a 100% recycled fabric version inspired by the gear that fitted the very first non-mechanized crossing with Antarctica in the 1990s (the transantarctic capsule).

The adventure genre has dominated the Nintendo Switch with massive successes like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Hollow Knight being among the most popular and instantly recognizable games. From indie strategy games to RPG mysteries, there’s no shortage of titles for gamers looking for their next big adventure.

The best games among these titles combine stunning visuals with compelling storylines, often taking players on an immersive journey through uniquely designed worlds. These games were designed to keep Switch users entertained, often making it impossible to put down the handheld console.

ten To the moon

An image showing the three main characters standing in a playground in the Switch To The Moon game.

Developed and published by Freebird Games, To the moon is one of the most criminally underrated indie games for the Switch. It has a fascinating premise centered around two doctors whose job it is to give dying patients a whole new life by altering their memories. In the game, they come across the puzzling case of Johnny, whose only wish is to go to the moon.

Players who expect exciting fights and action-packed moments should steer clear of this title, as it has a strong storytelling focus. The goal is to investigate Johnny’s past to find clues and solve puzzles, all with the goal of giving him the artificial memories he wants. Its immersive story is a treat for anyone who enjoys emotional tales and heartbreaking endings.

9 Ori and the will of the wisps

Ori fights a massive monster boss in the Nintendo Switch game Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

Ori and the will of the wisps was developed by Moon Studios as a sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest. The platform adventure follows the story of the white guardian spirit, Ori, who must venture through beautiful forests and dark caves to discover his true destiny and save the land of Niwen.

This Metroidvania game improves on the original with a bigger world, better combat system, and an even more memorable soundtrack that showcases the emotional narrative of the game. Each location reveals more about the protagonist’s story, which must maximize his spiritual weapons and use his puzzle-solving abilities to get through each beautifully crafted level. Will of the Wisps is an immersive experience in a well-designed surreal world full of mysterious creatures who each have a compelling story to tell.

8 At the sea!

A woman reclines in her chair as an image of a ship floats on the sea in the Switch Overboard game.

At the sea! is a unique take on thriller story by developer Inkle. In this case, it is the player who murdered an SS passenger. To hang up and now must find a way out. A game only lasts about half an hour, but the game is designed to be replayable so that players learn from their mistakes and end up committing the perfect crime.

The short and sweet Switch game is full of puzzles and twists that are deliciously shocking even for the most seasoned gamer. This can be exciting at times, especially when players have to choose the right lies, cover up evidence, or accuse other NPCs who won’t confess easily. Players have to be strategic to get the game perfect and get away with a murder.

7 Florence

A young woman floats down an urban alley as a person walks by in the Nintendo Switch game Florence.

Florence is an independent adventure slice developed by Mountains. The game stars Florence Yeoh, who is on average 20 years old and goes through her boring routines – commuting, working, scrolling through social media, and trying to sleep. All of that changes when she meets Krish, a cellist who ends up breaking this routine and changes Florence in the process.

Florence and Krish’s moving love story unfolds in six chapters, each telling different parts of their relationship. The game is surprisingly not rich in dialogue, as it relies on simple yet beautiful visuals and movements to tell the story of Florence. It’s a simple game where players can solve puzzles to help the protagonist understand their thoughts and feelings, all set in a well-designed world with a unique art style.

6 A short hike

Claire the Bird searches an abandoned yard in the Nintendo Switch game A Short Hike.

A short hike is one of the most relaxing Nintendo Switch games that takes players on a fun adventure through an open world park. It was developed and published by Adam Robinson-Yu, who created the game with a simple premise: Claire, an anthropomorphic bird, must climb to the top of a mountain to find cell phone reception.

This deceptively simple core of the story is just the tip of the iceberg, as the game is full of well-designed areas to explore and fun side quests to complete. Claire can interact with other animals and help them on their own journeys. From fishing to finding lost items, there are plenty of in-game mini-adventures that encourage players to take the time to enjoy the trip instead of focusing on the top.

5 80 days

A screenshot showing two players talking to each other in the Nintendo Switch 80 Days game.

80 days takes players on an epic adventure across the world, where players must travel 150 cities as a valet, Passepartout. Developed by Inkle, this game offers players thousands of possibilities to explore. Each city has a compelling story for the player to uncover, while making crucial decisions about the next leg of their journey.

As a valet, the players must take care of Mr. Phileas Fogg and ensure that he is in good health, while managing the finances, the luggage and the means of transport. It’s a fun strategy game and its steampunk style world never ceases to challenge the protagonist. Each part is never the same, as there are always new paths, Easter eggs, hidden objects and dialogue to discover.

4 Fire watch

A gamer holds a walkie-talkie while watching the setting sun in Switch's Firewatch game.

Fire watch is a mystery adventure game developed by Campo Santo. It follows the story of Henry, who is a fire watcher whose only means of communication is a walkie-talkie. He is drawn into the forest of Wyoming, where he discovers that the wilderness holds many secrets.

Fire watch strongly depends on the player’s choices. Each decision influences the narrative and ultimately shapes the end of the game. The brilliant dialogue and strikingly beautiful graphics make it a fully immersive experience that will keep players laughing (and sometimes crying) until its conclusion.

3 Night in the woods

Mae stands in a graveyard and watches a radio tower in the Switch game A Night in the Woods.

Developed by Infinite Fall, Night in the woods is a 2D adventure platformer set in the sleepy town of Possum Springs. The protagonist, Mae Borowski, must confront her past and try to reconnect with her friends and family, who all changed while she was in college.

With tons of mini-games, well-written dialogues, and secret areas to discover, Night in the woods never gets boring – in fact, the city always seems to change. Players must explore the cause of these changes by embarking on a nostalgic, often heartfelt adventure, both in the protagonist’s past and in the city’s mysterious forests. Despite the crazy events that take place in Possum Springs, the tale always comes back to Mae and her story, which is a fascinating and moving journey of self-discovery.

2 Hollow Knight

A knight fights a cat-like enemy at night in the Hollow Knight game for Nintendo Switch.

Hollow Knight is an action-adventure Metroidvania that follows the Nameless Knight through the interconnected rooms of Hallownest. Players must slowly piece together the protagonist’s story and discover more about the world as they battle the bugs and contaminated bugs. The stronger the knight gets, the farther players can venture to reveal and trace more areas of the map.

Hollow Knight is considered one of the most difficult games on the Switch, as it has brutal boss fights hidden in its many caves. It’s hard to hold a button down to heal, especially in the midst of a barrage of ruthless enemy attacks. However, the difficulty is more rewarding than punitive, as players slowly but surely learn more about the lore of ancient cities and encounter interesting NPCs along the way.

1 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Zelda Breath of the Wild open world issues resolved

by Nintendo Breath of the wild is arguably his best entry into THE Legend of Zelda franchise. It continues the story of Link, who has awakened in the realm of Hyrule and must now find a way to save him. He has to run, climb, swim, fight, cook, clean shrines and more in the huge kingdom.

Breath of the wild is an epic adventure through Hyrule, where players are encouraged through its non-linear gameplay to explore the world freely. There is an endless barrage of activities for Link, who can spend hours and hours traveling to visually stunning places. With gripping storytelling, iconic villains and brilliant game design, the game has reinvented and reinvigorated the Zelda format, taking players on an awe-inspiring and unforgettable adventure.

The team behind Newtown’s popular escape rooms attraction, Beyond Breakout, has developed a series of adventure games that can be taken to businesses, outdoors, and schools.

The Magic Portal combines the best of escape rooms, treasure hunts and geocaching over a distance of three kilometers. Beyond Breakout has an exclusive license to set up routes and run these games anywhere within a 60 minute radius of Newtown.

“The Magic Portal is a great way to utilize outdoor space and encourage visitation to a city, area or land,” said Lorna Morris, who runs Beyond Breakout with her business partner. Jo Woodall.

“Each game is about three kilometers long and we can set the course together with a customer or they can do it themselves. Everything is in place for the customer and the players.

“It’s the perfect quest for bringing teams of adults, families, groups of friends or vacationers to work together to solve puzzles while providing an immersive experience. The games last approximately two hours and players are given an iPad per team of six and a puzzle pack to solve all the puzzles.

“They’re navigating using maps and GPS to find the location of their next challenge. The cost is £ 60 per slot machine which can accommodate up to six players and customers can play 10 games per day.

All Lorna and Jo ask clients is that they share the marketing by promoting the event on social media and their website. Contact Lorna et Jo at tel: 01686 449172 or 07963 260373, or by e-mail [email protected].

Beyond Breakout organized the Magic Portal games for schools before opening reservations for the Newtown area.

The company’s indoor escape rooms are located on the fourth floor of Newtown’s Royal Welsh Warehouse, Pryce Jones Building. It also hosts digital online games and live avatar games.
