After a thrilling new adventure game? 2022 is filled with amazing video game releases this year. In this list, we’re going to highlight a few adventure games that we think you might want to check out this year. This is just a list of new games, so don’t pay too much attention to the rankings just yet. We won’t know how well these games will rank until they are officially released in the market. This list could therefore change radically by the end of 2022.

#8 Misplaced

Stray is a game that puts players in the role of being a cat. Set in a dystopian cyberpunk future, the world consists mostly of androids. Overall, the game is about a cat trying to get home to its family. However, you will need to navigate this world carefully. You’ll come across several different environmental puzzles to progress further in the game. Luckily, you’ll also get a companion drone to help you interact with various androids. As you progress through the game, you will slowly uncover a mystery in this world full of androids. The game was originally slated for release last year, but has since been pushed back to a 2022 launch window.

#7 Hazel Sky

Hazel Sky is an upcoming indie title that places players in the role of a young man sent to an abandoned island. It’s a tradition he must follow to show off his engineering skills. While on the island, you must explore the open world and find the parts needed to build a safe escape. However, although this is a traditional test for our protagonist, Shane, it is his fate in which the story will tell of the ambition of a young man who uncovers hidden truths.

#6 Chia

Tchia puts players in control of a young girl as she explores her home island. There are secrets to uncover, NPCs to meet, and a grand journey for players to embark on when this game launches. What makes Tchia a bit unique is the fact that players can transform into more than 30 different animals and over a hundred different objects. Transforming into something like a dog, players will dig holes in the ground or fly high in the sky like a bird. At the moment, the game doesn’t yet have a launch date attached to the project, but hopefully we’ll get the chance to dive into this indie game before the end of 2022.

#5 Little Devil Inside

Little Devil Inside is an action-adventure game where we are immersed in an unusual world of the 19th century. Players step into the role of a swordsman who takes it upon himself to find all the paranormal and supernatural items scattered across the world. We know that this game emphasizes exploration, combat and survival elements. Visually, the game will likely grab your attention, and the combat is a bit of a hack and slash. For some, this might be a game to dive into for a few hours at the start of your campaign.

#4 Avatar: Pandora’s Frontiers

The Avatar franchise is huge, and we’re getting an IP-based video game. This game is developed by Massive Entertainment, whose work you may know from The Division series. Not much information has been released regarding the premise of this game. So far we know that players will take on the role of the Na’vi as they are forced to cross the western border and push back the RDA which begins to threaten Pandora.

#3 Replaced

Replaced is set in a futuristic alternate version of 1980s America. Players step into an AI that is unwittingly thrown into a human body in-game. Our AI protagonist fights an uphill battle in a world where the elite preys on the weak to get money and useful resources like their precious organs. The AI ​​protagonist adapts to his new human life where you fight crime and the greed filled society in the game. You will find that Replaced is set up as a pixel side-scrolling adventure, and the camera visuals definitely give a cinematic feel. Unfortunately, this title doesn’t have a specific release date yet, but we should be getting Replaced at some point later this year.

#2 A Plague Tale: Requiem

A Plague Tale: Innocence was released in 2019, where players followed a young girl named Amicia with her younger brother Hugo. Set in 1348, the siblings find they are being hunted. You soon realize that Hugo’s blood is cursed and will allow players to control the Black Death by unleashing a flood of rats. But the game ends with our group still struggling to find a new home after their property is looted. While ridding the group that was initially tracking them, the siblings learn that they must find a cure for Hugo’s blood. Otherwise, the siblings may never have a peaceful life. With the sequel, A Plague Tale: Requiem, players will attempt to reach a mysterious island that may hold the key to curing Hugo and completely ridding the Black Death.

#1 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was a huge hit and instantly became a franchise classic. Players received an exciting new adventure with a new open-world map to explore freely. Just like with previous installments, players will have a host of dungeons to clear, bosses to defeat, and puzzles to solve. However, it looks like Nintendo isn’t done with that Breath of the Wild setting that was just set. Nintendo revealed that a sequel is coming but hasn’t revealed what players can expect in this new version yet. We might see the world map change drastically, and it will be interesting to see some of the NPCs we’ve encountered along the way. There are plenty of unanswered questions, but we should get some info on what the Breath of the Wild sequel will entail over the next few months.
